Queen of Peace intends to pilot an interactional day where caregivers share experiences, views and support each other toward rehabilitating our residential service users. This is a unique opportunity for families to connect, learn, and grow together.

The program aims to reach younger populations as they navigate decision-making, identity development, and peer pressure challenges. We provide education, mentorship, and support to empower youth to make healthy choices.

Join us for a day of awareness, education, and community support. We'll host workshops, panel discussions, and activities focused on mental health awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Amani Festival Launch

On 22 October 2022, Queen of Peace Institute for Community Mental Health Innovations launched the Amani Festival, a yearly October event aligned with World Mental Health Day.

Amani Festival was created to influence communities to fight stigma and discrimination against people with psychosocial and physical disabilities, while amplifying the fight against drug and substance abuse.

Queen of Peace actively participates in national platforms to amplify the voices and needs of people with disabilities and those affected by substance use.

  • 98.4 FM interviews on success stories in drug and substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation
  • ZBC interviews with in-patients at the rehabilitation centre

Anti-Drug Abuse Clean-Up Campaign

Anti-Drug Abuse clean-up campaign at Gweru Civic Centre with youths from the United Methodist Church under the theme: β€œIllicit drugs kill, stop drug abuse.”

The campaign combined environmental clean-up with education, testimonies, and youth engagement to send a strong message against drug and substance abuse.
