Community-Based Programs & Interventions
Awareness in Rural and Hotspot Areas
We carry out structured awareness campaigns across rural communities and hotspot areas within Midlands Province. These initiatives focus on drug and substance abuse prevention, early identification of mental health challenges, and reduction of stigma through schools, churches, community gatherings and outreach events.
Training of Village Community Health Workers
We strengthen primary-level care by training village and community health workers in the recognition, basic management and referral of drug and substance‑related disorders. This improves access to help at the first point of contact in the community.
Follow-Up and Medication Adherence Support
To address poor medication compliance and treatment discontinuation, we provide structured follow-up services for people who use drugs and those living with mental health conditions. This includes home visits, support calls and coordination with community structures.
Economic Empowerment, Recreation & Occupational Therapy
We implement economic empowerment projects, recreational activities and occupational therapy as part of long-term rehabilitation. We also mobilise financial and material resources to support ongoing awareness, treatment and follow-up care for discharged clients.
Our Treatment Philosophy
At Queen of Peace, we embrace an integrated, person-centred model of care aligned with international standards in mental health and addiction treatment. Our approach spans the full continuum of care—from prevention and early intervention through to treatment, rehabilitation, reintegration, and sustained recovery support.
We work collaboratively with clients, families, communities, and partner institutions to create safe, respectful, and empowering environments where healing and transformation are possible.
